UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) is getting rid of physical visa documents, such as passport vignette stickers and Biometric Residence Permits (BRP cards). This is all being replaced by a digital immigration status known as an eVisa, which will be proof of your Student Visa or right to stay and study in the UK.
A "share code" is a unique code you are able to generate and share with the university to allow us to check your immigration status and right to study with us.
If you are a new international student we will ask for this code along with your passport to check you have are able to study in the UK or if you have a student visa sponsored by us.
More information on how to create a share code can be found on the UKVI's E-Visa guidance pages or this article published on the university webpage on E-Visas.
